Kim Galgano

Owner/Lead Designer

Thank you so much for visiting my website!

My unique background as an author, entrepreneur, and life coach, allows me to walk alongside my clients to birth spaces they weren’t able to envision on their own. After remodeling our own home without a designer or general contractor, I went on to gain industry experience as a design partner for a start up residential staging company, helping develop their systems and business models. All of this experience led me to pivot and focus on my love for curated design, employing a lifelong draw to functional solutions that also invoke artistic intentionality.

Galgano+Home launched in October 2026.

My Why:
I LOVE design and I love people. I am drawn to creative spaces while constantly trying to challenge my own comfort level. I’ve learned over the years that not everyone can see design, or spacial awareness, in their mind before it comes to fruition. I’ve learned to appreciate this gift I hold, and achieve what I first envision 99% of the time.

Like me, most people want to live in beauty, but don’t always know where to begin. My passion is not just coming in and creating a pretty space for a client, it’s working alongside them to birth a dream space they didn’t even know was missing. I want to awaken the creative, visual side in all of us, because the earth was created in beauty. I also want to fuel confidence in those who feel insecure about their spaces, and help them to free their minds to enjoy the peace and comfort we all seek in the place that we call home.

My ultimate hope as a designer is to develop a point of view for you that feels authentic and true, not a home that feels like a showroom or your neighbor’s house. Through my process, and the relationship we create, you will learn to identify irreplaceable items (like the art you're emotional about, or a treasure that reminds you of that trip), and through the evolution of your decisions, you will build a collection, and you will become unapologetic about who you are and what you love within your own home. That is timeless, curated design, and what excites me the most about this business. I ultimately want every project to be about your story and your home, not mine.

My Process:
How do I accomplish this? A lot of listening and communication. As my client, you have your own style and preferences. My process is about discovering those inclinations by first hearing your story. By curating favorite heirlooms with unlikely modern pieces, that I might suggest, the result will be a room that doesn’t feel too composed. Your space will feel assembled, not prescribed; collected rather than decorated. I like to blend rooms with warmth and comfort, first and foremost, but also some touches of elegance, a bit of attitude, and always something unexpected.

My Taste:
My personal taste runs the gamut from Eclectic to Mid-Century Modern, and the Maximalist to the Timeless. Guests in my home have said they can’t pinpoint my design style, which is the best compliment of all.I also lived in India for a time, a place that reflects rich cultural heritage in textiles, patterns and vibrant color. I also briefly lived in California, with its relaxed, airy aesthetic. I’ve spent considerable time with family members in New England. There is something about the way things age there. The colors feel quieter, while the materials hold so much texture. But most of my life has been lived in the Pacific Northwest, where my love for open floor plans, large windows, and natural materials cemented my complete adoration for the color green.I relish the opportunity to explore all of my aesthetic passions by working with a variety of clients, each with their own sense of style.

My inspirations:
I believe my work is rooted in a variety of life experiences. I grew up outside of Philadelphia, an area rich in Colonialism, while also notable for Art Deco. My mom, a graduate of Penn State’s Home-Ec Department, had her own artistic, yet traditional style, while my dad broke all the rules like using a parachute for a curtain, or an antique commode as a coffee table. Some of my earliest memories are the elaborate homes I created for my Barbies, and walks with my dad. He would point out architectural details and challenge me to identify why a building might be designed as it was. That curiosity–the idea that homes and buildings, carry meaning– stuck with me.

I lived in India for a time, a place that reflects rich cultural heritage in textiles, patterns and vibrant color. I also spent time in California, with its relaxed, airy aesthetic. And I regular return to see family in New England. There is something about the way things age there. The colors feel quieter, while the materials hold so much texture. But most of my life has been lived in the Pacific Northwest, where my love for open floor plans, large windows, and natural materials cemented my complete adoration for the color green. All that said, my true inspiration is most often other people. When I see them tap into their true style for the first time? Well, that’s truly satisfying.
